Medical Services - are staffed by two psychiatrists; a full-time adult psychiatrist and a half-time child psychiatrist; and three full-time psychiatric nurses. Initial psychiatric assessments are performed by our psychiatrists, with periodic re-evaluation. Medication follow up and management is provided by the nurses. Ongoing consultation takes place between the psychiatrists and nurses to ensure the best continuity of professional care possible.
Crisis Services - are provided by a team of three County Designated Mental Health Professionals (CDMHP's) who provide crisis services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A counselor who specializes in crisis follow-up services is available to provide brief counseling services following a crisis episode when needed.
Crisis services include telephone support, face-to-face contacts, follow up sessions, brief counseling, and referral to other appropriate agencies.
Crisis Respite/Hospital Diversion - CMHC also supports a (CRHD) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This house is staffed by 5 full-time paraprofessionals. The purpose of the CRHD is to provide a safe and secure alternative for individuals who need 24/7 support. Access to the CRHD is determined by the CDMHP following consultation with case managers and medical staff.
Voluntary/Involuntary Hospitalization - CDMHP's seek to assist those in need of services including voluntary hospitalization. Sometimes, however, an individual is unable to make an informed decision about hospitalization and may be involuntarily detained to a psychiatric facility in accordance with Washington State law. CDMHP's are charged with the responsibility of finding the most appropriate, least restrictive form of treatment.
